Gil Haller - Solo exhibition
25.12.14 - 7.2.15
The exhibition presents a series of paintings by artist Gil Haller, inspired by the personal archive his father left behind. Drawn and painted in his artful hand, Haller presents us with a series of frozen images, blurring his family archive with our collective memory and tapping into something universal. Frozen by the original act of photography, each moment is given continuity by Haller's act of painting. The immediacy of the images invites us to experience each moment in the present and they become completely contemporary. We dive into these images with Haller, playing all parts in his recreated story, until through the detachment and distance we are exposed to the intimacy and yearning at the heart of his works.
